Marovo

This project was filmed together with Scott Wilson, an Australian freediver, at the Solomon Islands. Embarking on the true nature of the islands, we stayed in a village that was isolated from the fast pacing world and felt as if it were the last piece of earth that remains unscathed by humans. The inhabitants are using solar power and batteries to keep their electricity system intact. Additionally, they are living without cell phone reception and without the belief that money speaks volumes. They make a living through fishing the deep blue seas and are going about things as they unfold. Astonishingly different from our westernized views and ways to go about things, yet profoundly compelling and fascinating.
